Imagine being invited to an extravagant and expensive wedding, it’d certainly be a memorable moment in your life. Across the world various celebrities, socialites and royalty have had such weddings and some of them have been a pricey sum.

Sometimes magazines are encouraged to cover the weddings and will pay a fair portion of the costs to gain exclusivity.

Brad Pitt And Jennifer Aniston

Both heart-throbs had a million dollar wedding at a Malibu estate with a cliff-top wedding. 20,00 dollars worth of fireworks were used in the evening ceremony. Jennifer herself  had custom-made ivory suede heels by Manolo Blahnik

Sir Elton John and David Furnish

When Elton John and David Furnish celebrated they had a grand ceremony costing a reported 1.5 million dollars. Laurent-Perrier Champagne was served alongside towering floral decorations.

Although reports are there were no rockets involved.

Elizabeth Hurley & Arun Nayar 

Elizabeth Hurley tied the knot with Indian businessman Arun Nayar twice. The first which was held at the Sudeley Castle in the Cotswolds. The second time was at the Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, reportedly costing in total 2.6 million dollars.


Austin Powers did not make an appearance this time around.

Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra 

Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra’s ( winner of Miss World 2000 pageant) decadent Indian wedding was held in an actual palace, the 347 room- Taj Umaid Bhawan Palace for their ceremony and included a high production sangeet featuring a Jonas Brothers performance. The estimated cost was 3 million dollars.


Wayne Rooney & Coleen McLoughlin 

Footballer Wayne Rooney and Coleen McLoughlin made their vows at the Abbey of Cervara near Genoa in Italy. Costing 8 million dollars. Reportedly serenading the couple and the guests was the Irish boyband, Westlife, Coleen was certainly the wind beneath Wayne’s wings.

Prince Charles & Princess Diana 

A  110 million dollar wedding, witnessed personally by 3,500 people and broadcasted to 750 million TV viewers from around the globe. Diana’s wedding gown was covered in 10,000 pears and had a 25 foot train.  No wedding has yet exceeded this colossal amount.  A truly magic spectacle.
